Seemed like the week didn’t END

There is a reason to celebrate today though it isn’t my birthday or any from my family and friends.
IT’S MONDAY YET I HAVE NO CLASSES. YAY!!!!!!!!! CHEERS TO THAT!!
Last Friday our 2 family friends came at night to have dinner with us and to have bonding time. Our parents really loved them and treated them as their kids. We were like friends since I was in my sophomore year in high school and they were in college.
We are so comfortable having them around at home. We do a lot of staying late at night, watching movies and EATING OUT. Believe me, I always grow fat when they spend nights at home hahaha. The food stuff never ends.
We met 6 years ago in a religious seminar where Bernie was some kid that hated going there with his brother and was just forced to attend to by his mom (SAME THING WITH US). and Marj was a member of the community sponsoring the seminar. My brother, sister and I made lots of friends at the seminar but it ended up that Marj and Bern were the only people that were left to be friends with us THIS CLOSE until now. Others just sort of… “Hey where did they go??”
Man. We haven’t met Bern for like a year, and Marj hadn’t spent sleepovers with us for a long time so we treated this as a big reunion. Sad part is today – Bern is leaving. and Marj had left yesterday. I always hated goodbyes.

I can’t find an image of Marjorie. Her profile picture in Facebook is some male Korean actor. Tee-hee.
Anyway. We’ll always miss the two of you.
Bern went home with lots of stuff from us. He was so grateful of the religious items we sent him because I can see it in his eyes and it touched me when his eyes became watery when we said “You’re gonna need that when you’ll leave for Singapore,”
“Godwillingly,” He replies.

Looking forward for the next sleepover!

This is what you call I HATE ACCOUNTING.

Because I am writing this thing today – this clearly explains that I didn’t show up for school today.
Happy Birthday to my brother anyway. He now turned one year younger.
Yes, it is my elder brother’s birthday, at the same time my birthday for a first time absent in accounting subject.
DARN. I always hated the subject. I mean I liked it a long time ago when our professor was a funny male teacher that would make the girls kiss his cheek if we arrive late and the boys do the “Besa Mano” to him like a little grandpa. I always like accounting when he has our teacher. That was basic accounting. I never forgot that he said “YOU ARE ALL GONNA MISS ME GUYS,” and I was raising my eyebrow and saying “That’s what you think!” but heck. I really did miss him as my teacher!!
After him, I wasn’t getting good grades for accounting anymore. I was slacking off. I don’t know if it’s just me or is it the teachers that were terrible that’s why I’m totally slacking off. Accounting all of a sudden seemed harder than Calculus.
NADDAH. ANYTHING MATH SUCKS for me, who is an artist and not a mathematician. (Well, not really an artist but according to Facebook quiz results I am. hahaha)
So this is what our present professor looks like during accounting sessions…

I don’t know what happened today. I woke up at 8AM.
And 8AM is our accounting class. My sophomore classmates are laughing at me. Because if I am not late, I AM ABSENT.
I don’t know. I am toooooooooooo bored toooooooooooo lazy to attend to that subject.
I hope I can do better next time. and wake up earlier!!!

I know this song is so long ago. But I am so in love with The All-American Rejects since forever. I really liked Nick Wheeler (lead guitars and back vocals) in their video Swing Swing because he just sort of looked like my school mate who happened to be the object of my summer last year. But then I realized they don’t really looked that CLOSE. Maybe just their eyes do. And now – I still adore Nick! He’s just so cool. and HOT. (hot and cold that is hahaha)
In this video, I loved Tyson Ritter!! (lead vocals and bass) I can’t even reach that high note in the bridge because his voice was just way high. So I have to learn to live with disaoppointment. But it’s okay. AAR sang the national anthem of my life.
Until now. It ends tonight is still living in my playlist.

Digging the SlumDog Millionaire Film

I have seen the Slum Dog Millionaire movie poster several times at the mall. Nothing. I just looked at it like it was a typical non-American movie. (Yeah even though I heard it won Best Picture at the Oscar’s. Naddah. It didn’t impressed me. I’m so evil.)
I was totally wrong. It is an American movie only that it is filmed in India with Indian actors. I wasn’t impressed at all until I watched it tonight. IT WAS AN AMAZING MOVIE. Okay I am such a hypocrite.
At first my brother told me the film was fantastic because the story line itself was fantastic. I was just like “Oh okay,” and bit my cookie. He said “Come on. Watch it.”
Okay I did. I did.
It was actually a story about a young Indian guy (Jamal) who was so in love with this girl (Latika). They both became parentless when some sort of attack happened in the slums where they live when they were still small children and Jamal’s mom died leaving him running for his life together with his brother. Jamal and Latika met in a cold night when Jamal asked her to come in in this “abandoned truck” where he and his brother spent the whole night, only that his elder brother wouldn’t allow him to. But Jamal is the type of a REALLY KIND GUY which made him ignore his brother and made the girl come in to avail the shelter since she’s out there freezing in the pouring rain.
The adventure started then. There were several instances that happened as they grew up. Jamal’s brother engaged in alcohol, drugs, bad company and syndicate when he became a teenager. Jamal worked in a call center BUT NOT AS A CALL CENTER AGENT THOUGH. He was like, an errand boy??? Yeah, and Latika – he never saw her again when they cruelly parted days after the pouring rain incident. He never forgot her. (You know just watch the movie in case you’re dying to know how they parted. It was terrible.)
As he grew up, Jamal continued his life in search for her, at the same time he had to find decent or stealing jobs just to survive. He went through a lot just to find her.
Until one day, after a couple of years, he found her working as a slave (or whatever you call that in India) for this big Indian Boss who is the same boss Jamal’s brother’s working for drugs. Jamal went to his house and fortunately, he was away and Latika was alone. He told her she had to come with him and leave the house but she can’t. He saw the TV and Latika was watching the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? then her boss arrive and he was sent out, leaving instructions that he would always wait for her everyday at 5:00PM at the train station for her. She hated it because she knew she couldn’t get anywhere and she just wanted to give things up.
I hated that part.
Jamal couldn’t believe what just happened which made him decide to join the GAME SHOW IN THE HOPES THAT LATIKA COULD FIND HIM THERE. Can you believe it?? I mean this part really struck me. He wasn’t there for the money. He freakin’ didn’t care for the money. All he wanted was just to find her. He even assumed he won’t win anything considering he grew up in the slums and he didn’t finish his education.
The movie evolved around the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Every question thrown at him HE ANSWERS IT CORRECTLY. The host even couldn’t believe it because he was uneducated but every after question, the film would roll down to a flashback in his life where the situations will involve the answers to the questions. EVERY QUESTION HAPPENED IN HIS LIFE.
Now this is the part where I started to like the movie. As I’ve said he went through a lot and he valued every moment that occurred, which made him answer all the questions as the cash prize is rising up to millions. He was even brought to the Indian Police Station because the police said he was cheating and they were beating him up just for him to tell where did he get all the answers and how is the cheating done!! THIS IS SOOOOO BAD.
Okay, so let’s go to the point. HE WON 20 million rupees. THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY.
When the show started and everyone was waiting for the final round because the question is worth 20 million. Jamal’s elder brother arranged an escape for Latika because he knew she wanted to get out of there already. He gave her his car and his cell phone. Meanwhile in the game, Jamal asked for help called “Call a Friend” and the crew dialled the number he gave them for this clue only that no one is answering. And yeah right. Jamal was calling his elder brother’s number and OKAY. Latika answered. Nice. Though he didn’t anymore know the answer he didn’t care because he was so happy to hear Latika’s voice. and right – Latika didn’t even give him the answer because it was timed-out. They were like “How are you?” “I’m safe now,” and stuff like that. Stuff that normal contestants of the game show wouldn’t say.
Anyway he just sort of picked any answer because he didn’t care anymore. He was just so happy. and surprised. because the answer he picked was CORRECT.
The film was all in all amazing. I realized I don’t have to put things down just because they aren’t American actors. But hey. This film won Best Picture. And now I know why. It was really amazing – you have to watch it.
By the way, this is a true story. And that is why Who Wants to be a Millionaire isn’t showing up anymore because 20 million rupees is A LOT OF CASH. – to just give away.
